Casting shield and failing to do so on yourself, gives you an injury. Check.
Casting shield on someone else, and succeeding, gives them a shield. Check.
Casting shield on someone else, and failing, causes insanity and no injury to yourself, but injury
 to the receiver. Check.
Casting shield on someone else, succeeding, and sustaining injury on yoursef. Hmm....
