To me, Magic is whatever the user wants it to be.  Its a VERY general term involving how much focus
 one has.  They can then focus energies from the surrounding areas to do their bidding.  Summoning,
 Elementals, Transmutation, Barriers, etc.  Elementals are probably the largest area, and can be
 used in any number of ways.

Another way it can be used is just summoning said energies and building them up, then just
 releasing them.  Wether to heal, harm, or totally disentigrate, its up to whoever wants to do it.  

Now, thats RP.  And only used it both parties want too.  Magic in coded terms are different ways of
 manipulating the energies a wiz can draw upon.  IE, fireballs.  But using only coded can be
 limiting, as most mages would learn from previous NPC teachers or some of the people that are
 supposidly walking around that we can't see.  Also, it doesn't entirly make sense to ONLY cast
 fireball, if you can command fire to an extent, why not a wall of fire?  or a stream, or something
 like that.  RP comes in then.  Anyways, thats my opinion, LATA.
